She was born in Oklahoma City (where Thomas Blonde is located) in 1889, Mesta was a socialite who entertained Washington, D.C.'s social elite for over 30 years. She was known for her lavish parties. Her father, William Skirvin, an oil and gas tycoon and real estate developer owned the Skirvin Hotel (in OKC) where she cultivated her entertaining skills.
